PBCGA ADDS THREE NEW SPONSORS

The Palm Beach County Golf Association (PBCGA) is proud to announce the addition of Polo Golf, Bankrate, and the Milk Jug as new sponsors this season. With the assistance of these new sponsors, the PBCGA will have a greater opportunity to impact the community through its Scholarship Fund and to add more excitement and competition as it restructures its end-of-the-season festivities.

Since its inception in 1976, the Palm Beach County Golf Association has awarded over $250,000 to 125 area college students to help with their college education. These scholarships have helped students pay for tuition, books, and other fees so that they could be more dedicated to their studies. This year, we anticipate increasing the Scholarship Fund by an additional $40,000.

Executive Director, Tommy Belen said, "I am excited and thankful for the support of our new sponsors. Their contributions will enable us to have a greater impact on the lives of college students within our community."

On November 12th-13th, Polo Golf will host PBCGA's first Tour Championship at Mayacoo Lakes CC. The field will be comprised of the top 30 players from the regular point standings and the top 15 players from the senior point standings following the completion of the Senior Four Ball on October 31st. To be eligible for the Tour Championship you must compete in at least 4 events during the season. Senior must compete in 2 senior events to be eligible.

Following the Tour Championship, PBCGA will designate two awards which will be presented at the annual Awards Banquet. The Bankrate Cup will be awarded to the players from both the regular and senior divisions who have accumulated the most points following the completion of the Tour Championship. The Tour Championship will carry a point total which should provide the top point earners in each division the opportunity to win the Bankrate Cup. View Point System The PBCGA Players of the Year will receive The Milk Jug Award. The recipient of this award will be voted upon by a committee of board members, players, sponsors, media, and volunteers based upon the player's performance throughout the year.

PBCGA's Annual Awards Banquet will be held at Frenchman's Reserve in Palm Beach Gardens on December 3rd. This evening will be spent honoring PBCGA's champions, sponsors, volunteers and scholarship winners.
