Curaleaf Classic Team Stableford

The Curaleaf Classic Team Stableford will be the ninth event on the 2023 Palm Beach County Golf Association Schedule. The 36-hole Team Modified Stableford Championship, will be played over two days (Saturday, August 12 – Sunday, August 13). Approximately 84 players will tee-it-up and compete for the most points with hopes to be declared the winner.

The event will be hosted at The PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The competition will consist of Open (49 and younger), Senior (50-59) and Super Senior (60+) contests with points awarded towards each of the PBCGA Point Cup Races presented by The Golf Crypt, Jupiter: Open Points CupSenior Points Cup and the Super Senior Points Cup.

The scoring in Stableford competitions is made by points awarded in relation to a fixed score at each hole as follows:

Team Stableford Scoring System: Both Balls and Scores Count. The teams aggregate score (strokes taken) on each hole will be used against double par to award points.

Team Points: Dbl Bogey (-)1 / Bogey 1 / Par 2 / Birdie 4 / Eagle 6 / Dbl Eagle 8

Double Bogey or worse

(-) 1

Double Eagle

Example: Par 5 (Par 10)
Team Dbl Bogey (12+ team strokes) = (-) 1 point
Team Bogey (11 team strokes) = 1 point
Team Par (10 team strokes) = 2 points
Team Birdie (9 team strokes) = 4 points
Team Eagle (8 team strokes) = 6 points
Team Dbl Eagle (7 team strokes) = 8 points

Example: Par 4 (Par 8)
Team Dbl Bogey (10+ teams strokes) = (-) 1 point
Team Bogey (9 team strokes) = 1 point
Team Par (8 team strokes) = 2 points
Team Birdie (7 team strokes) = 4 points
Team Eagle (6 team strokes) = 6 points
Team Dbl Eagle (5 team strokes) = 8 points

Example: Par 3 (Par 6)
Team Dbl Bogey (8+ teams strokes) = (-) 1 point
Team Bogey (7 team strokes) = 1 point
Team Par (6 team strokes) = 2 points
Team Birdie (5 team strokes) = 4 points
Team Eagle (4 team strokes) = 6 points
Team Dbl Eagle (3 team strokes) = 8 points

The modification to the scoring comes into play if a Double Bogey or worse is carded on a a hole. In normal stableford competitions, this score would produce zero (0) points, but as an added challenge, the modified scoring will subtract 1 point from the players total points awarded for their round. Low number of strokes taken each hole will produce more points and a high number of strokes taken will have the potential to erase points previously earned.
