Thomas Belen, former PBCGA Executive Director (1996-2014), long-time supporter, 2019 PBCGA Hall of Fame inductee, proud partner as Morell Studios VP of Sales South Florida and the Tommy Belen Better Ball Championship is named in his honor. 
The Palm Beach County Golf Association will host seven team events throughout the 2021 season. Our fourth team event will be the Tommy Belen Better Ball Championship presented by Morell Studios. The annual competition will be hosted at Hobe Sound Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida.
The event will consist of Open (49 and younger), Senior (50-59) and Super Senior (60+) contests with points awarded towards each of the PBCGA Points Races: Open Points Cup, Senior Points Cup, and the Super Senior Points Cup. The championship will consist of a 36-hole Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship (two person teams), played over two days (Saturday, August 21 – Sunday, August 22). Approximately 48 teams will tee-it-up and compete in the following format. Better Ball format: form of stroke play in which two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole, there is no penalty.
