30th Amateur Stroke Play (Aug 15-16, 2026)

The 30th Amateur Stroke Play

Thirty playings in, the Amateur Stroke Play returns to a course that already knows its history — PGA National welcomes the championship back this August.

On August 15–16, 2026, the 30th Amateur Stroke Play Championship comes to PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, with 36 holes of competition split across two signature layouts: The Fazio and The Palmer. It isn't the PBCGA's oldest championship, but three decades of champions have built it into one of the purest tests on the calendar — no teammates, no scrambles, just a scorecard and two rounds to settle it.

Open to all amateurs. No PBCGA membership required to compete — this championship is open to any golfer ready to test their game across two rounds at PGA National.

Two Courses, One Championship

The Fazio

A reinvention of PGA National's original Haig layout, The Fazio blends classic strategy with modern demands — rewarding golfers who can shape shots and control distance into reshaped, well-defended greens.

The Palmer

Named for its designer, Arnold Palmer, this risk/reward layout invites bold play from the tee while punishing anything loose into the green. A fitting closing test for a 36-hole championship.

A Championship With a Track Record

PGA National isn't new to this event. The resort has hosted the Amateur Stroke Play six times before — in 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, and as recently as 2019 — including three playings on the course now reborn as The Fazio. The 30th edition marks the championship's seventh visit to the property.

Most Open Titles R.J. Nakashian — 4 Championships
Senior Division Ryan Howison — 3 Titles Since 2019
Returning Venue PGA National's 7th Playing

The champions' roll dates back to Pleasant Hughes in 1997 and includes 16th-edition winner Eoghan O'Connell, who also carries Walker Cup pedigree for Great Britain-Ireland — a reminder of the caliber of player this championship has produced for three decades.
