Eligibility & Entry

Entry is through the DraftKings Shootout & Match Play Qualifier on August 21 — an 18-hole stroke play round at Jonathan’s Landing’s Medal Course that seeds qualifiers directly into both the Mid-Amateur and Senior-Amateur Match Play brackets by division. It’s also a standalone Shootout Championship with its own purse and Player of the Year points, so every player in the field is competing for something. Open to all PBCGA members and non-members age 50 and older (Senior and Super Senior divisions both feed the same 50+ Match Play bracket) who will have reached eligibility by the start of the Championship, August 28–30.

PBCGA reserves the right to adjust exemptions and the method of filling the Match Play field at its sole discretion, both before and after the Qualifier. Full field-selection and exemption policy is posted with the DraftKings Shootout & Match Play Qualifier announcement.

DraftKings Shootout Qualifier Entry Fee $175 (due at registration)
Senior-Amateur Match Play Entry Fee $200 (due upon qualifying into the Championship Bracket)

Defending Champion

Stephen Anderson enters as the defending champion after defeating Joe Rice in last year’s final — his second straight Senior-Amateur Match Play title. Anderson and Rice carry the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds into the 2026 Championship Bracket.

What’s at Stake

Beyond the title, points are awarded toward the PBCGA Senior and Super Senior Division Point Cup Races. Every match here counts twice — once on the bracket, once on the season.

Sponsor Recognition

The Senior-Amateur Match Play is presented by Imperial Headwear. The DraftKings Shootout Match Play Qualifier on August 21 is presented by DraftKings.

Host Course Spotlight

Jonathan’s Landing’s Match Course, part of the club’s Old Trail campus in Jupiter, was redesigned by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner in 2021 and named to Golf Digest’s 2023 Best Transformation list. It’s a fitting stage for match play — a course built to reward bold decisions under pressure. The qualifier plays across the Old Trail campus’ Medal Course, a Tom Fazio design from 2017.
