Sanford Ferris Golf Course Design joins PBCGA as Official Partner

Sanford Ferris Golf Course Design Joins PBCGA as 2026 Senior Partners Presenting Sponsor

The Palm Beach Golf Association is proud to announce that Sanford Ferris Golf Course Design has joined the PBCGA family as the presenting sponsor of the 2026 Senior Partners Best Ball/Alternate Shot, set for August 8–9 at Eastpointe Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens.

You Know Their Work

John Sanford founded the firm in 1986. Over the four decades since, he and partner David Ferris have shaped more than 100 golf courses across the United States and around the world. But for PBCGA members, the most meaningful part of that portfolio may be how close to home it runs.

Their South Florida work includes Eastpointe Country Club — the very venue hosting this year's Senior Partners — along with Banyan Cay Resort & Golf (now Dutchman's Pipe) in West Palm Beach, Hobe Sound Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Hunters Run Country Club in Boynton Beach, Sailfish Sands Golf Course in Stuart, Wycliffe Country Club in Wellington, Pointe West Country Club in Vero Beach, and Vero Beach Country Club. These are courses PBCGA members have competed on, practiced on, and loved for years. Sanford Ferris helped build them.

Beyond South Florida, the firm's portfolio spans New York City, Boston, Cairo, the Caribbean, and throughout the United States. John Sanford is a past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and a member of the USGA Distance Committee. David Ferris, ASGCA, brings Cornell-trained landscape architecture credentials and nearly 30 years of shared experience at the firm to every project.

Their philosophy guides every design: golf courses are a combination of art and science — strategic, sustainable, and built to endure.

A Partnership That Makes Sense

There is something fitting about a firm that has spent four decades building South Florida's golf landscape choosing to invest in the organization that competes on it. The PBCGA is honored to have Sanford Ferris Golf Course Design as a partner, and grateful for their commitment to amateur golf in this community.

An Evening With the Architect

The partnership comes with a singular moment: following Round 1 on August 8, John Sanford will host a post-round happy hour for all Senior Partners competitors at Eastpointe Country Club. It is a rare opportunity to spend an evening with one of the most accomplished course architects in the country — on the course he designed.

Registration for the 2026 Senior Partners Best Ball/Alternate Shot is now open. Fields are limited.

ABOUT PBCGA

Founded in 1976 by visionary local business leaders, the Palm Beach Golf Association (PBCGA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to elevating amateur golf and empowering the next generation in South Florida. For over 50 years, we've been the heartbeat of Palm Beach County's golf community, hosting 20 premier championships annually from March to October. These events bring together nearly 700 amateur golfers of all ages to compete on the region's top courses, fostering camaraderie, skill-building, and unforgettable experiences.

Our mission is twofold: to promote amateur golf across South Florida and to invest in education through scholarships and mentorship. We've awarded over $495,000 to more than 195 deserving students, helping cover tuition, books, and fees at Florida colleges. In partnership with Take Stock in Children – Palm Beach County, we provide comprehensive support, including volunteer mentors and life-skills development, to prepare low-income middle schoolers for success.

Led by Executive Director Jordan Schneider and a passionate team of volunteers from our headquarters in Palm Beach County, we're governed by an elected Board of Directors chaired by Robbie Wight. Our enduring partnerships with icons like Tiger Woods Ventures, Jack & Barbara Nicklaus, Morell Studios, and the Palm Beach Kennel Club—along with local businesses, alumni, and friends—fuel our efforts to give back and expand opportunities.

Whether you're an amateur golfer seeking competitive play, a student aspiring to higher education, or a business looking to partner in community impact, join us in building a stronger South Florida golf legacy throughout the Palm Beaches. Club members and players: extend your community and experience top courses across the region. Local golf clubs and pros: showcase your venue by hosting our premier tournaments. Supporters: fuel scholarships through charitable donations. Golfers: test your skills at our exciting events.
