Register Now — Bobby Bryant County Am Registration GuideAbout Bobby Bryant
The Palm Beach County Golf community lost one of its most dedicated and popular figures when Bobby Bryant passed on December 7, 2003. A PGA club professional who had regained his amateur status, Bobby joined the PBCGA in 1984 and served the board in multiple roles, including chairman. He was the driving force behind the creation of the Senior Series — events for players 50 and older — and earned PBCGA Volunteer of the Year honors five times (1999–2003) before being inducted into the PBCGA Hall of Fame in 2001.
Born May 1, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, Bobby graduated from Ohio University in 1960 and served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry in Munich, Germany. He owned and operated the 741 Golf Center in Dayton for over a decade before moving to Florida in 1977. He became the first salesman at PGA National Resort Community and later opened Bryant Realty Brokers, Inc. with his wife, Suzy — a Palm Beach Gardens resident for 24 years.
The Bobby Bryant Championship has been held in his honor ever since. Twenty editions in, it remains one of the defining events on the PBCGA calendar — a fitting tribute to the standards he set for competitive integrity and community within the game.
